Mike wants to collect the green water variations. We purchased a Barnegat #1009 and the water is definitely a dark green. We then purchased a #1453. According to the Greenbook on Harbour Lights, the last known number for green water was #1415. However the #1453 is a very light green. It is not blue. But the whole piece looks like it was painted lighter. All shades except the red on the light are very pale and light. Is this normal? Does someone have a number close to 1453 to compare the colors? Any help you can give us would be appreciated.

Patty

Hi Patty, I checked mine and it's #3157 with blue water. Could it be the piece was exposed to the sun and faded over time?

Bob,

Fading was my first reaction, too. But in my experience, red *anything* tends to fade earlier than other colors. Patty mentions that the red on the piece is still strong. Patty, It doesn't look like the red has been "retouched", does it?

No Art, I'm positive the tower has not been retouched, even the red edge on the small boat is vivid. The whole piece shows no signs of sun exposure at all. The only noticable differences between the two bases is the lighter shading used on the base, shrubs and the green water. I'm curious, seeing that this higher # piece might be one of a last patch of green water done, if this patch was done in a little lighter shade. Thanks for any extra info.

We have #3596 and the base edge is very dark blue, however, the base top (from the boat to the anchor) is more green and lighter as you describe.

The green is very dark near the rocks on the shore.
