I guess that is one way to get people to respond to a post, use bad typing..
I corrected the earlier post for those who wonder what you two are talking about..

That's one that really appeals to me.
I mostly shoot available light and this appears to have a 1.2 f speed at the widest zoom setting. And the 6400 ASA @ 3M Pixels is great for most of my needs. Zoom is wide at the widest setting - won't have to buy a WA Adaptor.
I don't want an SLR -- I know I would end up trying to own all the Nikkor lenses that could be attached. Been there, done that. Broke the bank.
I'm using a Canon Powershot S3IS. There have been 2 updates made to this camera since I bought this one in 2006 -- for just about the $399 the Nikon is priced at.

It figures a new one would come out. I just bought less than a month ago the P80 which has 18X zoom. I did get a bargain on it though. Originally $399, I paid $239. Guess with the new one coming out that is why I could get the bargain price! Still a lot of Zoom!!

Hi-zoom P & S cameras; I've been checking these cameras on Amazon and best new one seems to be the Olympus SP-590UZ, with 2.7 lcd, 12 mp, and 26X. According to the description it does about everything. If anyone is interested you can check it out on Amazon.com WackoCharlie

I had the original Olympus UltraZoom digital, and it was a great camera until it croaked at only 13 months old. The biggest issue I have with the current Olympus cameras is that they use non-standard cards - they use xD instead of SD cards, but I do see that the 590 will also use a micro SD. The xD and micro SD are generally somewhat more expensive than SD or CF cards, and won't work in too many cameras. For me, this makes the camera somewhat less desireable. However, you can't ignore the zoom and 12 MP. It is nice to see that Olympus still uses AA batteries (as does Canon).
