The time has arrived! The award
ceremonies will begin. The audience is
being seated -- all WACKOS please report
to your seats and read over the rules
before pressing your voting buttons.
Lamar has made the tally and here are the
top 6 contestants that were mentioned the
most times on your listings, put in order
of most mentions at the top:

Morris Island, SC
Round Island, MS
Cape St. Geroge, FL
Sand Island, AL
Esopus Meadows, NY
Rockland Breakwater, ME

Here are the rules and procedures.
Please read completely before voting.

l. You must be a WACKO at the TIME of
your voting, in order to be eligible to
vote. The voting will close at 11:59 PM
EST on Sunday, October 17. Newbies have
until that time to become a wacko and
have a chance to vote.

2. You may only vote for ONE of the
above 6 lighthouses.

3. The lighthouse with the most votes
will be the winner of the "restoration
lighthouse of the year" award, and from
this a pin will be designed.

4. If there is a tie vote for first
place, another vote will be taken.

5. Lamar will tally your votes and make
an announcement of the winner after Oct.
17, here on the General Forum.

6. Two persons will be receiving your
votes, myself and Lamar, in case of any
snafus on either server's part. He has
a computer and I have a webtv. My webtv
has several mailboxes, each with a small
limited capacity for incoming mail. As my
ladylighthkeeper box is sort of near
mid-full, I have opened a special box
just for voting. Please do NOT send any
correspondence to this special box but
send it to my regular ladylightkeeper box
if you have questions for me on this vote
or anything else. That way I will have
enough space to receive all votes coming
in.

7. Send your vote out in two completely
separate e-mail transmissions please. DO
NOT post your vote on the forum. You must
list your usual identification name as it
always appears on your postings, such as
my handle of ladylightkeeper; and please
state that you are indeed a wacko.

Send your vote to:

lamar@gs.verio.net AND ALSO TO

keeptheflame@webtv.net

8. Once the vote is in, then we can start
working on a design. The committee has
had some responses but is still looking
for a graphic artist who has time to
immediately start in on this project.
Can you help on this?

The Committee
Lamar Bevil
Barbara Hupp
Darlene Cook

Wackos, please read the rules and procedures above carefully before voting. Votes MUST be sent to both Lamar and the special Keeptheflame address I have set up, as listed in the above original post. DO NOT send your vote to my ladylightkeeper address. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to receiving your vote on this fun but important project.

As part of the deliberations before casting my vote, I thought it would be worthwhile to read about the restoration efforts for each of the candidate lighthouses. If others would like to do the same thing, here are the web pages I used to start my research.

Round Island:

Rick: Thank you so much for posting the website addresses for those lights that we are voting on. This will help wackos really make an informed decision.

We have had 26 wackos vote so far. There is a week to go til the deadline and many more wackos out there eligible to vote.
