Late last fall we began discussing regional events for 2007. I was told that Don wanted Harbour Lights to have one of the regionals in Door County because of the Racine Reef event piece. As discussions progressed, I shared a little history with Tony and made a request. The history was that of one of our collector family who was a most active volunteer for a Door County lighthouse. In fact, I believe the light became a personal mission for him.

Back in the days of the International Collectibles Exposition in Rosemont, Bill Younger used to have a “seminar” for collectors each afternoon. Well, it became something of a standard expectation that sometime during the seminar a certain collector would wave a home made poster board sign exclaiming “POTTAWATOMIE”. We could count on Jim Johnston to make this request year after year. Pottawatomie was “his” light.

I took the opportunity and asked Tony if he would consider making a special Little Light of Pottawatomie to recognize the regional event. (Not enough lead time to produce a full size HL). Tony agreed and things were put in motion. We decided that the light would be a numbered LL with a special back stamp celebrating the regional. There will be 300 of the numbered LL.

Here are the details for obtaining the light. All orders will be through the regional on-site dealer, Audrey M. Off Gallery from Sturgeon Bay. You may begin to call AMO Gallery (920-743-2259) after 10 AM Central time on Monday, June 25th. Cost will be $27 delivered. If you wish to request a certain number, such as your autoship number, there will be an additional cost of $10. This $10 will be donated to the Friends of Rock Island to be used at the Pottawatomie Light. Numbers 1, 150 and 300 are not available. Preference for the lights will be given to those who have attended the Indianapolis regional or will be attending the Door County regional. The lights will be delivered at the Door County regional; ones to be shipped will begin shipping the week after the regional. AMO Gallery will take credit card information when you order but will not charge your card until after August 15th.

I realize these are not Brady quality images, but I was able to grab some quick shots:

Nice looking !!!

But could you imagine how nice an LE would have looked. Maybe we'll see one over the next few years.

Well, I just got through, spoke to Dave.
The deal is: IF (that's a big if as they hope to sell out at the regionals) there are any left after the Indianapolis regional and the Door County Regional they will call you back for you to purchase. So if you are not attending either regional and want one, keep your fingers crossed!

I just called and it doesn't look good for us non-attendees.

Audrey said the phone has been non-stop with calls from Wackos. They are not even taking cc info- just phone numbers- at least from us bottom of the list dwellers. laugh

Sounds like this is going to be very hard to get unless you go to the Door County Regional event.

I was going to pass on it anyway, as I knew many fellow HL collectors wanted this for sometime and there was only going to be a very small amount available of this LLOM special edition.

I hope those are the folks who get one. smile

Just called and spoke to Audrey. Things don't sound quite so dire for non attendees but she did say that folks who want one of these lights should definitely call this week. It seems that perhaps 500 should have been made, especially with attendees from 2 regionals getting first dibs. I'd really hate to miss out on getting one of these after having made the trek out to the light with my wacko buddies a few years back.

I don’t mine the regional attendees getting first choice of the numbers but why does a super wacko forum user who participates on the forum devotedly, have to take second place to just anyone because they are an attendee. Give me a regional with in 500 miles of me and I will also go. The south has never had a special limited regional piece and for the past two years are not even having a regional.

Yes; I am griping and for a legitimate cause. I think the south has been short changed with no reunion and now left out of the regionals and even the special regional LLOM.

Life is tough. live with it. laugh

I understand your position but it ain't ever going to change. It wouldn't matter waht method they chose somebody would be left out and fel they have a legitamate gripe.

How about those people who didn't find out about the thomas Point special LLOM because they aren't online? Is that fair.

Just my personal point of view.

No offense Daniel but the annual St Augustine event with special LEs, and the Youngers in attendance, certainly qualify as a non-sanctioned Regional.

My understanding is that those attending the Door County regional will have first shot at buying these pieces.

If you can't go, find someone who plans to go and strike a deal with them.

Think of this as you would a Collector's Reunion exclusive. You have to be there to buy it.

IMO there is no short-supply. There will NOT be 150 people at the regional each buying two.

Put your name on Audrey's list and you will be very likely to be able to purchase one.

One addition to John's post the attendees to both the Indianapolis and Doop County Regional get first shot at purchasing the LL..

One addition to Paul's post then...

Find someone who went to the Indianapolis Regional and negotiate with them to buy one Pottawatomie for you!

You guys are losing me. Why would I have to contact someone who went to the Indy Regional to purchase this light? Daves instructions say that all we have to do is call Audrey at AMO Gallery to purchase one. Am I missing something?

Sean, Dave's post also says this:

"Preference for the lights will be given to those who have attended the Indianapolis regional or will be attending the Door County regional."

When I called Audrey to order one she asked me how many I wanted. So I assume all attendees of both regionals will have the opportunity to order as many as they want. There's only 300 to start minus 3 that aren't available. So when you subtract all the orders by 1) The Indy regional folks and 2) The Door County regional folks (could be some duplicate folkses, is that a word?) you get whats left, if any and those are the ones that Audrey can sell to the call in folks.

So that's why you should call an Indy attendee to insure getting one.

Thats all folks!

Those who attended the Indianapolis Regional and/or will attend the Door County Regional are moved to the top of the purchase list Per Dave.

It's a great looking LLOM, and I can see why people from the area will be excited to add it to their collections. I'll wait for the full-size LE to come out.

I will not be ordering the current offering. I really don't collect the LLOM size pieces. I do have a couple of dozen LLOM but I don't have any immediate plans to add to that number of smaller replicas.

If I was a new collector that collected for pure enjoyment, I would seriously consider just collecting LLOM. They're extremely well done, they're considerably cheaper to buy, they take up less room to display, and if you accidently damage one they're a heck of a lot cheaper to replace.

I give "two-thumbs-up" to the LLOM line from Harbour Lights. The introduction of limited releases of these small treasures is a real plus for those who collect them.

They called back Saturday while we were in Nashville. My son took the message that I was added to the list. He had a confused look on his face when he told me, and said I would probably know what they were talking about.

Received the two LLOMs I requested in the mail on Friday. Received # 220 and #230 also the Racine Reef Regional piece and the unexpected Regional button. The folks at Audrey's Gallery are great! All HL pieces were signed by both Bill and Harry (button was not signed)!

Wonderful detail on Pottawatomie and Racine Reef.

If anyone would like a limited edition coin to match their Pottawatomie TLLOM please read my post in "Lighthouse Preservation & Fund Raising"
There are images of both sides of the coin. Hopefully I will be able to match a coin to your lighthouse number. Thanks to everyone helping Pottawatomie Lighthouse. The oldest lighthouse in Wisconsin.

I got #113 last week signed by Bill and Harry. Luckily I didn't throw away the shipment box and the regional button was in the bottom of the box under the air packaging material. I would have never seen it. Thanks for the heads up and a nice bonus. I couldn't pass up purchasing a Racine Reef last month at a signing event and having Bill sign it.

Thanks again to all of you who are helping the Pottawatomie Lighthouse. We really appreciate your support. If you have ordered a TLLOM from AMO Gallery and would like a matching numbered coin please let me know. I only had 300 coins made for the Sesquicentennial Celebration. I would like to match as many as I can. Some of you who purchased Door County Regional Event 1/300 TLLOM of Pottawatomie Lighthouse do not necessarly want a coin. I understand, can you please drop me a line and let me know so I can free up that coin number so it may be purchased by another person. If you purchased a coin at Pottawatomie Lighthouse on Saturday August 25th please drop me a line and let me know what number you have. I'm trying my hardest to maintain a record of the coins and who purchased them. Things were pretty busy that day and I have some missing information I'd like to fill in.

The purpose of this fund raiser is to pay for replacing the floor in the summer kitchen and repairing the outside foundation. We welcome all of you to come out to the Sesquicentennial Celebration on May 17, 2008 and help us celebrate the 150th birthday bash. It'll be a party !

Thank you all for your support.

Mike, the #37 Racine Reef is mine that I loaned to Dave & Audrey before they received their shipment. Figured it would be easier for them to sell when people were able to see what a great piece it was.

Dave gave me back my model when we were in Door County for the regional. Your posting made me go check to be sure I did have the #37 . . . I do. Sorry, folks, that one isn't available.

My mistake Dave, I thought I saw it in the window still. Anyway, they do still have some left.
