Need some conversations on the CF so I figured I'd start this thread...what is the latest HL LE that you may have purchased?
For me...I just picked up the Tuckers Island LE...haven't checked the flag # yet...will have to let you know.
Heck...I haven't even looked for the seahorse on it yet either.

What LE is the last that you have bought?

They just keep coming because of my auto ship. As far as the secondary market goes, I just bought another two Tugboat Toledos, a Motor Yacht Kim, a Skip Jack Nancy, and another Purse Seiner Tori Dawn. Stock piling Anchor Bay boats why the price is right.

I also picked up three more Point Fermins (HL501) and a few more "southern belles". I also have a few more lightning rod pieces en route. Most of this stuff is being funded by the NFL.

smile Bob smile

P.S. I just noticed this was post number 7777. I would like to dedicate that to my buddy, Fred, where ever he may be. We miss you Fred! Drop by and say "Hi" when you get the opportunity!

My latest are Point Sur, Ca. and Mystic Seaport, Ct. Maybe now that Harbour Lights is going to make less LE's I can get caught up on the ones I have seen.

The Admiralty Head Regional Event LE. I got that rather than El Moro at the Hands of Time Billy signing, because I don't like the El Moro piece.

Just opened the boxes: Point Fermin, Sullivan's Range Light, First Boston Harbor, Split Rock (HL 124), and an Anchor Bay Tugboat Toledo.

It's almost time for a massive inventory to decide what stays and what goes. Hopefully, as my patient becomes a little more self sufficient, I might be able to gather a list of HL's, AB's, and lenses available for delivery prior to Christmas, if any one of you are interested.

Not to change the original subject matter of this thread, I've got a lot of songs. I was a music collector and part time DJ for many years. I have around 5000 songs on 45's and about 750 CD's. I had a ball doing the DJ thing. Can you imagine getting paid to play music you like to hear, free drinks, and fed too? The money was great and more than paid for the music collection I have. I stopped doing it in the early 90's because I just didn't like staying out that late anymore.

Same story here. DJ'd college parties at UMass Amherst (it was definely ZooMass when I was there in the mid to late 70's), then 2 years at an ABC Lounge in St.Pete, FL, not much since, just a few weddings. Only have about 1400 45's and a couple of juke boxes. We wanted to put one of the jukeboxes in our store, and donate all the money to lighthouse preservation, but we ran out of floor space. Need a bigger store for that idea.

Okay, now this thread is really going off course.

I wish I had a recent purchase of a new LE! Like many of you, I'm still waiting for the dynamic duo, the red & white Old Macks. I'm also waiting for another North Block Island that I'm purchasing as a gift.

Is there any other new 2006 releases that haven't been released yet? If there are, I'm still waiting for them.

In the past week I received two LE lights I got on the secondary market: Lorain, Ohio #207 & Presque Isle, PA #201.

Since I bought one of the last Erie Land Lights, I decided to collect some of the lighthouses from Lake Erie. laugh

I just received another North Light, Block Island from my dealer. I bought it as a Christmas present for a friend. Unfortunately, it came with a note that they hadn't received the "Icebreakers" or the HL Collector's Guide as of yet.

Your welcome! After doing my extended inventory, it seems such a shame that of the almost 600 HL's I have in stock, only about 120 or so are actually being displayed at one time.

I do remember those days of hunting down the lower flag# HL's. I remember the excitement of finding a 3-digit flag, never mind a 2-digit. That's what gave me the idea of offering many of my 2-digit flag#'s for sale. I offered them at retail pricing with a shipping and insurance charge. It seems it costs between $10-$12 to ship and insure the average HL via USPS Priority Mail. You just can't do it for $8 anymore.

It's nice to know that some of my #23's are now proudly displayed in other people's collections rather than just sitting in my storage area. I know when I first started collecting, I would have been proud to have such a great flag# on display. It was somewhat of a hard decision to sell some off, but now I've broken the ice and I'm glad I did.

I inventoried my Anchor Bay boats the other day and have three with #22 and one with #48. My auto ship for Anchor Bay is currently #15, so there is a spattering of those in there too.

Keep an eye on the Trading Post for future offerings!

Good News and Bad News. The good news, just picked-up Galveston Jetty and Prices Creek. The bad news, my dealer will only be carrying North and South Carolina Lights. They will however order any for me. This means no "looky-touchy" before buying.

Tha kind of puts you between a rock and a hard place. I can't blame your dealer for not displaying HL's that he or she knows won't sell that well in their area, but many sales could go south because the product isn't on display catching consumer eyes.

When I first started collecting, I do remember visiting many dealers within a rather lengthy radius from my home. It was fun to look at the various HL's in person that I hadn't seen before. It led me to buying lights I hadn't considered buying before that time.

I feel your reference to "looky touchy" is important. You see it, you touch it, you like it, you'll buy it.

Found a NEW dealer for HL today. He encourages "looky-touchy" and was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Couldn't resist and bought Staten Island - the tower is exceptional. He had many older pieces at original retail but no #111. Signed me-up for the new catalogue. Christmas came early.

Yes, isn't it...
Sorry for bragging like that... couldn't help it! Was so chuffed when this brilliant piece arrived, I had to show off!

I'm surprised we haven't had a group of "I got my Big Macs" announced yet. I'm still on the waiting end for my matched pair. I did get another Nauset and NLL in the mail the other day. The seller described them as mint, but my assessment would have been very good condition because of some paint rub-off. At least there were no chips or nicks.

I don't buy remakes but...the "new" Adimarlty Head was an exception because it is an exceptionally well done sculpture. What a difference from #101 and kudos to the HL artist who continue to amaze me with their detail. I know it has been a long time between 1991 and today but commitment to providing the best in the collectible line of lighthouses may be why my total collection now numbers 282. All on display in "THE LIGHTHOUSE ROOM". Looking forward to the 2007 releases and hoping for Eastern Point.

My staff just gave me a Cape Charles for Christmas! What a great choice! We were just here with all of you at the Regional as well as climb and view from the water, and meet the resident family. laugh

Don't think you climber Cape Charles or met the family there, Bob. It is a great light, though. Think perhaps you crossed Cape Charles and Old Point Comfort.

I guess you're right Dave. So many lighthouses this year. At least I was in the right state. John no hints.
