Can someone tell me please...was it the norm for St. George Reef (HL115) to say St. George Reef on the flag but have St. George's Reef on the bottom label?

The one I have is like yours and the tent card spells it like the bottom label. Don't have the C of A handy, but will look at that later and let you know how it's spelled on that.

I acquired one of these resently via Ebay. I'll check mine out over the weekend.

I don't have it displayed yet, as I need to buy another curio soon.

Certificate of Authenticity spells it:

Saint George's Reef
California

Looks like they covered all bases on this one. . . .

my California Lighthouse book calls it St. George Reef Lighthouse. Also St. George Lighthouse without the reef mentioned.

I have 6 of HL 115 in stock. I just happen to have one of them at my computer desk. It is Flag# 1249, a beautiful piece with a rod. Tag on the bottom reads "St. George's Reef". Flag reads "St. George Reef". Until I read this thread, I never knew that.

Thanks for all your replies! I wasn't sure if that was the norm or a variation. Of course I checked my guide first but couldn't find anything on that.

Flag is correct, bottom tag is wrong...all maps, charts, topographical refs, etc. refer to the geographical feature as "St. George Reef"...even the prominent coastal headland northwest of Crescent City, CA is called Point St. George...
