I've noticed that everything has slowed down on the CF HL Exclusive. Is it still going to happen? I see the "new post" indicator on all the time in the private work team forum, but I havn't seen anything on the public side. I'm just curious.-

Greg,

We are trying to come up with a few lights from the list submitted by the Forum members now. We are trying to narror down the list to a few good selections and hope to make our first presentation to Kim either this week or next week. As soon as we have some firm information we will let all the members know the results. Keep patient.

Glad to hear the the committee is trying to narrow the list down. This makes a lot of sense. Also the fact that you are going to check these out with Kim as to what HL can produce and maybe those they are not willing to or can't make. I have a question. What is the procedure once the list is narrowed down and is checked by Kim?

Once Kim reviews our selected choices and gives us the thumbs up or down on the choices, we will try to get the most for our bucks. We hope to be able to get a smallest limited edition size with the largest light for the money. This is where we are at now and all we can hope for is that Kim agrees to make the light within our budget constraints. There is really nothing else at this time to relay other then wish for John to make the presentation successfully and hope that Kim buys in.

We'll have an announcement to post on Friday, August 26 and a preview at the chat on Thursday, August 25 @ 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

This will include the name of the light, the approximate size of the piece and the quantity to be available as well as ordering information. We should also have a photo of the real light.

Those who have been 'silent supporters' of the Collector Forums (readers, but NOT registered) will want to register in order to be able to purchase this Collectors Forum Exclusive.

Proceeds from the sale will help to support the Collector Forums and the lighthouses we support through our fund-raising efforts. No individual will receive any income from the sale.

Orders will be taken starting later in September with a deposit of $25 per light, the balance due towards the end of Winter when the pieces are ready to ship. We should have a photo of the actual piece before Christmas.

Are you looking for insider info? Is patience really a virtue? Well it won't be long and all your questions will be answered.

I will tell you that "he (or she) who hesitates, is lost". When the ordering information is released, respond immediately. There is a very limited number of special CF pieces being made.

A word to the wise is sufficient!

I would just like to reiterate what Bob and Daniel just said. You will be extremely happy with the selection and will want to order as soon as possible. We have worked hard to get where we are and the work is far from over. You will want to be the proud owner of this exclusive Collectors Forum piece so do not hesitate. We are hoping for and expect a fast sell out.

You'll just have to wait to find out this number until the official announcement is made on the 26th. There should be enough to make everyone happy as long as you don't procastrinate too long.

I'm guessing 250. Don't know why, it seems like a good number.

I'm actually wondering about the cost. I am going to have to figure out how to save for the piece. I know that there will be a $25 deposit, but what about after that? What are we going to pay in December?

I'll wait. smile

What if you responded to the poll as to whether or not you would buy if a special piece were offered? If you replied yes and weren't on the site when the news broke it doesn't seem logical to be left-out. I'd appreciate a response to this ASAP as would others who may not have seen this posted for what sounds like August 26th could be the first and last opportunity.

Fair Warning to our 'Silent Supporters' (AKA Lurkers)

You'll need to be a registered member as of midnight, September 1, 2005. If you view the forums between August 26 and September 1, you'll have a chance to know what the item is, the quantity and the price and decide whether it's worth it to you to join in order to be able to purchase.

If you run across the forums sometime after September 1 and only learn about the exclusive then, you will probably be out of luck.

Of course the cost of joining the forums is and always has been ZERO, so if you are reading this now and will be taking a trip up the Congo River starting tomorrow and will be out of touch for the next few weeks, why not just click on that "REGISTER" link at the top of this page and get it over with?

About the Poll

The "poll" was just that, a survey to see what the overall level of interest might be in working with Harbour Lights on an exlusive. It wasn't a committment on anyone's part to buy a piece or for the CF to create one. Obviously the level of interest was high enough to encourage the Work Team to proceed.

An email will be going out on Friday to those who are registered. However, those who have not kept their email address up to date or who have chosen NOT to allow their email address to be viewed by even the Administrator will obviously NOT receive this email.

Time to check your email address? Click on "My Profile" above (You may need to click on "Login" if you don't see the link to "My Profile") and then choose "View My Profile". Note the first item under the category "My Preferences" If you have checked "No" to the statement "Allow Administrators to send me emails", then you won't get an email.

We never sell emails and we seldom send out emails. This is one time you might want to get the word.

Note that orders will not be taken until towards the middle of the September.

Since you'll be at the Reunion, Bob, you'll get the annoucement in person...

The fact that many WACKOs are going to be on the road (again), is the reason we put off the commencement of orders until the middle of the month. Save your spare change on this trip; it will probably add up to the $25 deposit. laugh

And John, I'm convinced this light will be so nice the secondary will be WELL OVER $10,000.00

This could be the first limited edition lighthouse without a seahorse. Time will tell.

Rumour has it that all pieces by HL have a seahorse but I'll be dipped if I can find any on the special buildings they've produced for Lighthouse Depot or the Fresnels.

WIll this special piece be treated like the other special buildings??? Hope not. Be really disappointed if that's the case. frown frown
