Sorry about "shouting" in the title, but how can we help but be excited about the long awaited arrival of the Erie Land Light???

The lights are expected to arrive in Maine in early May. Lighthouse Depot will ship out the pre-purchased lights for us. Probably mid-May. This will save me an untold amount of work and will get the lights into your hands more quickly than if I shipped them. They will go via UPS, so those of you who provided a PO Box will need to get me a street address ASAP.

Those who chose to use the "pay half down" option need to get the balance due covered within the next two weeks (by May 5th). You should be receiving a note from me with the options.

We don't mind THAT kind of shouting, Dave. Are the buttons still arriving at the same time?

The pins for those who paid in full when they ordered will be included with the ELL. IF anyone would like to purchase an extra one, please contact me.

I am happy as a pig in slop. The never to be done ELL(according to Kim) is a reality. It's been a long year in the making.

Even though I nominated the ELL, if it wasn't for Daniel pushing for it and the rest of the committee agreeing to it, it would have never happened.

Waiting for word of the ELLs arriving, but the mailing list went to Lighthouse Depot this afternoon. There are a few who still need to settle up to receive their lights. If you do not have the balance covered, or have not made arrangements with me, your lights will not be shipped in the intitial delivery. They will be left in the group that will eventually come to me for further distribution. Moral of the story: Settle up or be the last one on the block to receive your ELL! It may be July before I get into those as I have a somewhat busy June.

I have sent a couple emails to those that still have a balance. If you are not sure if you owe, send me a note and double check.

Just a thought; how are you going to decide who gets which number piece? (low versus high).

The numbers were all assigned by a luck of the draw for those ordered by a certain date. From there on it was sequential numbering. No bad numbers when there are only 500 pieces.

Dave did a random drawing for numbers for the Forum members that preordered before the ordering was opened up to non-Forum collectors. Example: If there were 250 pieces preordered he randomly drew numbers between #1 and #250. The #2-#6 were not in the drawing as they will be used for future fund raising. None of us know these numbers and won't know until our pieces are delivered to our doors. It's sort of like opening presents on Christmas morning.

So get ready for a 3 digit or less, #500 or lower, probably with 2 under 250.
1 out of 125 chance it's a single digit.
Almost a 1 out of 5 it's a double digit.
2 out of 5 for the first customers(if the 250 above is right)!
Another 5 will get 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500.
Should be fun???????

TOTALLY DEAL!

Hey, maybe I'll even end up with a really low number. That'd be cool...

But if we all get numbers under 500, then that changes the range of what is considered a "low number" to a much narrower gap than, say, a normal edition of 4000 pieces. So wheras 500 may have before been "low," now 100 would be.

Now we just need a REALLY hot woman (or man) to deliver each of our ELLs in a suitcase, and we're all set. laugh

Cleared it out. Try again.

And if it's about the thing I think it might be about, I'm going to get it in as soon as I can get the thing I need to do the thing working.

I would hope that RICH would get the number "1" light as he was the one that made the nomination that was approved. Those of you who have seen the LEGACY must have noted the story about Rich which was really well done. Also a photo of him holding an "ERIE LAND LIGHT." Bring on the numbers but more imprtantly the LIGHT!

No one received preferential treatment on low numbers - that was one rule I insisted on. Each of the group that worked on the project got a chance for each ELL they purchased. The numbers fell where the numbers fell.

I will reiterate what Dave said. The drawing was 100% above board and none of the committe got anything up on the other members of the Forums. None of us even know what numbers were drawn. We will find out when the "man in brown" delivers them. It will be like Christmas in May when they are delivered. Bob M is the one to thank for the ELL as he was the one that suggested an exclusive. I just happened to be the one that suggested the ELL because I knew that HL would not do the piece because Kim told me that the market was not there for it. It just turned out to be the perfect size, price range and the artwork was already done from the LLOM model.

I may have thought of that idea at that time and it now has become a reality, but the real work was done by Dave H and John C in making the ELL become a reality. Rich suggested Erie Land Light and the ELL won out over the rest of the competition. The committee members bantered back and forth for quite some time in the initial planning stage. Then our two-top guys (Dave H & John C) took the ball and ran with it.

Give credit where credit is due. Thanks Dave & John!!!

So far! I'm hoping there may be more in the future which would give the CF members a chance to vote for a light that may not be on Harbour Light's "to-do" list.

The lights have been released by customs in Boston and are on the way to Wells. They are expected between now and Wednesday. As soon as they get the container unloaded they will ship our lights out - all their paperwork is set and ready to pack and ship them. There is more than just the ELL in the container so it may take a day or so to get it fully unloaded.

Things have been slowed a bit by the floods in the area, with the container being delayed getting released. They will send me a note as soon as they start to ship and I will then send an email to everyone as I have promised to do in my last several communications.

You're doing a great job, Dave. !! Is there any way you can get cloned for other jobs as well?? I'm really looking forward to it as I've just returned from the hospital with a total new knee , #1. #2 will probably not be far behind, but will wait for the recent memories to fade. Anyway, the Light when it arrives will undoubtedly give me hours of enjoyment as I have lotsa time to fill, and I was born and raised in Cleveland and remember it well!!!! smile smile .

George,

My husband had his left knee replaced 3 years ago during the winter and was back walking the 18 holes on the golf course that spring. Follow your surgeon's and your therapist's instructions to the letter and you'll be climbing stairs in no time at all.

My mother's had both knees replaced twice--got 18 years use out of the originals before they had to be replaced. She's also had a shoulder replaced. Bionic woman's going to outlive all of us!!

Sandy
