I know there are supposed to be 7 lights in Tx. Unfortunatly I left home without checking up first. I'm in Pt Aransas for a few days & don't know where the lights are?
I know someone out there knows where these lights are. Thanks

Matagorda Island Light- (accessible only by boat) Matagorda Island, Port Lavaca.

Halfmoon Reef Light- Route 35 in Port Lavaca

Aransas Pass Light- (not open to the public) (can only be seen from a boat) Mustang Island (North of Corpus Christi)

Point Isabel Light- Route 100 through Port Isabel to the Point Isabel State Historic Site.

Galveston Jetty Light would have been one of the seven a year ago.

Info from the NPS

Even more from the CG!

According to the CG site there are/were some 14 Texas lights.

Here is the info from the National Park Service site:]
http://www.cr.nps.gov/maritime/light/tx.htm

Looks like a few have been moved and are now accessible.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department has a T-shirt which pictures the 7 lights on the back.

Gail,
I have heard that sometimes you can go to the lighhouse at Port Aransas and go in. It is owned by our local Grocery Chain here in south Texas. HEB

Thanks for the notice about the T-Shirt from Texas. I live here and did not know about it.

Thanks everyone!! Ya'll are GREAT. When I fail to do my homework I can always count on ya'll to help. Not to plug H.L., but I had seen a Pt Aransas (by Lefton) & it did not look anything like the real light. At least with H.L. when you have seen the model, you reconize the real light when you see it.
