Long Island Lighthouse Challenge

May 19th, 20th & 21st Sunset Lighthouse Cruises - 4:30pm to 8:30pm

Choose the night that works with your travel plans! Enjoy an evening lighthouse cruise sponsored by LongIslandLighthouses.com and LighthouseTShirts.com, as part of the Long Island Lighthouse Challenge.

· Enjoy the sunset cruising the waters around Long Island aboard the Peconic Star

· See The East End Seaport Museum (at the dock) & the lighthouses at Long Beach Bar, Cedar Island, Plum Island, and Orient Point.

· Get credit for 4 of the stops included in the Long Island Lighthouse Challenge. Souvenirs for each stop will be provided on board.

· Help raise funds for Long Island Lighthouse restoration & education.

· Enjoy the historic narration provided by Bob Muller, author of Long Island's Lighthouses: Past and Present

· Have the opportunity to buy the Long Island's Lighthouses: Past and Present book and have it signed by the author!

· Be part of a unique opportunity during the LI Lighthouse Challenge weekend to mingle with other lighthouse lovers.

· Be the only ones to have the opportunity to get photos of these lighthouses from the water.

Salads, sandwiches and beverages will be served aboard the boat.

Returning to the dock at approximately 8:30, we should be sailing back into the sunset. (Sunset is at 8:00)

There will be lighthouse challenge merchandise available, raffles, and special guests aboard.

If you can make the challenge and this cruise I would encourage you to do so! Several of us were able to meet on LI last year for the First LI LH Challenge and we had a great time. The cruise was also a fun time. Probably the biggest complaint I would have about the cruise was that sometimes the captain put the boat so close to the light that I had to switch from my long lens to the close up one . . . . . not too often you have complaints like that!

Great trip. I meet many CF members on th boat. This year I am going to Door County. I wish they would have done this the same week as last time then I could have done both. Next year maybe. If you didnt get a chance to do it last year, Do it this year. Its worth the trip.

I hope to see some old and new LH friends at the LI Lighthouse challenge this year.

I'll be volunteering somewhere all day Saturday and Sunday in the AM (have a Poco concert on LI Sunday evening and will be meeting up with some Poconuts in the afternoon).

I'll add my kudos to this cruise. It was great. Got up close and personal with many Lighthouses and Lighthouse Wackos.

I won't be on any of the cruises- at least I don't think so.

I've been on some incarnation of this cruise numerous times, and I've always enjoyed it. Capt. Dave of the Peconic Star is a fantastic boat captain, and his crew is top notch. And he really does get the boat up close enough that you almost think you can reach out and touch the lighthouse!

I plan to be on all three cruises (working, of course)--so if you attend, please be sure to come up and say "hello."

Sounds like a great trip.
