On March 1, 2006 the Mukilteo Light Station turned 100 years old. Saturday, April 1st was our season opener. Got nice newspaper coverage in local papers. Thought you might enjoy reading.

Good articles! Thanks for sharing with us, Darlene. It's obvious that the Mukilteo Light is a source of great pride for the community - one which brings the residents closer together.

Very nice articles. They included a lot of the history of the light, and why it was important. Not often enough does that kind of imformation get included. Happy birthday to Mukilteo, and thanks to all the fine members of the Historical Society for the work they do preserving it. I don't know if they still do so, but when I visited several years ago, Darlene told me the local garden club took responsibility for the landscaping at the light station. It had the most beautiful flowers all around - one of the most well cared for and prettiest light stations I have visited.

smile Nice story! In the first article, be sure to click on "Enlarge" and see the eight photos they show including one very old. Congratulations to all on the wonderful job they have done on preserving this lighthouse! Thanks for sharing!
