I have been thinking...lighthouse people seem to all have a bit of an interest in Life Saving Stations. I don't know why, but it's almost like you can't like one without the other.

Th USLSS also somewhat ties in with the USCG in mission, etc. We do not have a forum currently for discussion of the Lifesaving Service. My thought - and it's just a thought - is to expand the name of this forum to US Coast Guard/US Lifesaving Service.

The LSS might go well with the USCG. They are, as I said, similar organisations, and this forum does not have as much activity as it could. Perhaps the tying of the two similar topics together could help boost the visitorship?

It's just an idea...I am totally open to suggestion. I just thought I might share that. smile

Not a lot of replies to your suggestion, Greg. As a matter of fact there hasn't been a lot of traffic in the USCG thread. One would think with all the retired (notice I didn't say "ex") Coasties, there would be a lot more discussion.

Greg, maybe you should put together a few questions and appropriate reply choices at the "Voting Booth".

I would say 99.9% of the people who visit the CF have an interest in lighthouses. What percentage of people who also have an interest in Life Saving Stations has yet to be determined. Put something together and maybe we might be able to figure that percentage out.

I'd sure be interested in having the life saving stations included, here or somewhere. We've had a few photos posted of some of them but not a whole lot.
