A USCG Veteran in Piscataway, NJ, looks back on desegregation in the United States Military... From the Fifth District Public Affairs Summing up the article... As for the Coast Guard itself, it remains the smallest of the U.S. military branches. But as history shows, it inaugurated one of the biggest changes in U.S. military history: racial equality. Not long after, the Navy followed suit, and progressive change was in place. If you are a history buff, this will be particularly interesting. It's a well written report. Judy
