Here's a chance to express your feeling about what you think of some of the points brought up in the Collector Forums about the planned 2005 HL Reunion. Remember, this is just for informational purposes and will not change any of the scheduled reunion plans.

A nice feature of voting in a poll is you do so anonymously. I was hoping this would bring a few more people to participate in the poll. Don't be shy about putting your two cents worth in.

Thirty-three people have voted so far (two days) in this poll, and the results are all good re the reunion. The organizers have done a lot of planning and the fruits of their labor will be obvious on "phone-in day".

I feel it would be nice if more information was released to the faithful about the itinerary including the projected maximum attendance. People need to know what's going on.

Looks like we maxed out at 44 voters for this poll. The general consensus was the Great Lakes Region was a great choice; they liked the time of the year; no real agreement on the cost; attendance 18 yes, 20 no, 6 undecided; 19 were undecided on their feelings about the advantage of pre-registering, 17 indicated they would be pre-registering; 26 of the voters have attended at least one reunion, 18 voters have never been to a HL Reunion; 23 people stated it wasn't the end of the world if they don't get to go while 21 are hoping to attend; and if they could change just one thing about the 2005 Reunion, it would be the cost to attend.

Reading between the lines, most of the data collected indicates a very basic positive feeling towards this upcoming reunion. The only bone of contention seems to be the cost of getting there and participating in the reunion.

Bob,

I agree with your assessment of the vote.

I'm not surprised at the outcome- it was very predictable from comments made before and after the Reunion was announced.

Bob another bone of contention not addressed in your pole would be the short notice given to collectors prior to registration and the fact that registration is during a work day excluding those of us not retired. I probably won't be able to attend because I can't register and I'm not going to be forced to join a club register. How about if I send a Lighthouse a donation, can I pre-register then?

imho

You know, Sean, I never thought of that point, but it is a valid one. If my memory serves me correctly, registrations for past HL Reunions were on Saturdays. Having the registration on a normal work day, if you have a normal job, does preclude a dedicated employee from calling for reservations rather than performing his or her job.

I think the 2005 Reunion will fill up fairly fast because of the limited amount of spaces available. Many regulars may not be attending so many new faces may be enjoying the HL Reunion experience.

 Bob
