What type of pieces do you think the last two Grand Tour releases will be? Limited editions, LLOM's or GLOW's.

My guess was for two LE's. Probably more wishful thinking then likely to happen.

Unless the Louisiana piece is a GLOW of New Canal, there are so many other lighthouses that could be done as LE's first. I know most are gone, but we shouldn't overlook them.

As for Alabama, unless the release is a GLOW of Middle Bay or a LLOM of Sand Island, this one could also be a Gone But Not Forgotten LE release. Maybe Choctaw Point?

Going by the numbers there is still one less LE and one less GLOW then last year, but many more LLOM's.

I hope during August is when we hear what the releases are.

Perhaps it won't be any of the above. They could be some type of "special release", fundraisers for New Canal and Sand Island perhaps?

I'm going for the LLOMs.

There has been a few less this year than last...on my count, just the two for the LI Challenge, versus 4 last year (plus the stamp set, which half counts).

Hoping we'll see a few more backstamped LLOMs, since I think they're a nice value...limited run, standard(ish) LLOM price, donations to lighthouses.

Lens are LE's, so that would be two LE's.

Well that tells me that it won't be two LE's. As I was the only one to vote for the LE's in the first 6 or 7 votes.

I think your vote was for one LE & one LLOM or one LE & one GLOW, depending on if it was the fourth or fifth vote.

I may be wrong, but I voted for two LE's because LLOM are so much faster to make and if I remember right we usually get all of our LLOM in the first of the year except for last minute ideas or for shipping problems. It just makes more sense that the larger more complicated LE’s would take longer to make and would need the extra time to make. I guess it is possible one may be a GLOW but I took my shot at two LE's

I just voted last week so I didn’t interfere with your calculations of which one’s Paul voted for.

All kidding aside, I hope we find out soon.

One note: If you go by the numbers comparing 2007 with 2008. We are short one LE and one GLOW for 2008. As for LLOM's, there were actually 12 released this year if you total the regular LLOM's and the limited LLOM's. More then the usual amount.

The vote counter has stopped at 33 for a few days now.

Since it think we are going to find out what the releases are sometime in early September, the poll will run till the end of August. I know I didn't set it up with an end date, but I'll post the August 31st official results to bring it to a close.

Well the poll ran for just over a month with 34 voters.

The LE and LLOM combo is what most are expecting.

Not far behind is a tie between 2 LE's and a LE/GLOW combo.

Interesting that their was only one vote for two GLOW's.

Also interesting that Daniel voted for 2 LE's and he was at the New Orleans Regional.

The two LLOM's choice had 5 votes and was tied for 4th with the LLOM/GLOW combo.


The poll in technicly still open, and so far the results haven't changed. Since I created the poll, I decided on the August 31st date to close it.
