In fairness to all, this is your chance to list your favorite city for a HL reunion. This does not mean HL will have a reunion or that any of your choices will be concidered even if it is voted the most popular. This is in fun and should reflect some interesting results. This poll is not being done by a professional poll taker but a fellow forum member that is just curious in what the Forum users think.
After about a week (don't hold me to the exact time) I will list all the cities that are listed on this post to be voted on for first, second, and third choice.
You can list as many cities as you like. I think it would be helpful if you listed the region also. Maybe I will get ambitious and do a separate post for each region.
The regions are
Gulf Coast (FL panhandle, MS, AL, TX) Western Great Lakes (Lake MI, Lake Superior, Lake Huron) Eastern Great Lakes (Lake Erie, Lake Ontario) Mid-Atlantic (NY MD, DE, NJ, NC) Southeast (SC, GA, FL West or East Coast) California Northwest (OR, WA) Hawaii Alaska New England (ME, NH, MA, RI)

Daniel,
Here are my choices-
Gulf Coast (FL panhandle, MS, AL, TX)- None. I don't think there is enough lighthouse related items in close proximity to any city large enough to hold a reunion.
Western Great Lakes (Lake MI, Lake Superior, Lake Huron)- None. This area was already done recently
Eastern Great Lakes (Lake Erie, Lake Ontario)- Cleveland or Buffalo might work here.
Mid-Atlantic (NY MD, DE, NJ, NC)- None
Southeast (SC, GA, FL West or East Coast)- Charleston, Savannah and Key West in that order.
California- San Francisco
Northwest (OR, WA)- Seattle, Portland
Hawaii - No one city but the cruise around the islands can easily include most of the lighthouses in Hawaii. This cruise is much less expensive than an Alaskan Lighthouse cruise would be.
Alaska - No one city but an Alaskan cruise could work but would be too expensive to get to enough lighthouses.
New England (ME, NH, MA, RI)- This area has been done already but taking that out of the equation either Boston or Portland would be nice.
Just to add an additional region and go international Vancouver would be a nice place as well.
Final point- My first choice overall would be any of these 3- Charleston, Savannah or Key West.
Dennis

10 years ago you had a reunion in CA ... would there not be an argument for celebrating a decade of reunions in CA again?
... yes I know ... that should really be this year ... but I guess it is too late to plan that. Still ... is there any decade celebration plans?

This is a no-brainer for me, a Massachusetts resident. I would like to see a Reunion in the New England area. Yes, we did have one here in Providence almost ten years ago, but other New England states have a lot to offer. Bob

Some great lighthousing in the Seattle area. Could take a side trip up to Vancouver for an "international" flair or down to Oregon for couple of days to see those lighthouses.

Seattle, WA sounds good to me...especially if it's late June, July or August. We're tentatively planning a trip there in 2008. Not sure if we would want to do two trips to the same place. But, if we can combine our plans with the reunion, we'll be there.
Rip, what is the lighthouse kitty?

Yes for Seattle and a pre or post trip could be to the San Juan Islands to see all those lights. Logistically it could be more difficult with all the ferries needed to get from one place to another and the boats to the islands. That would be part of the fun and of course if we are not thinking of doing it until 2010 there's plenty of time to work on the logistics. Judy
