Here's some photos from our mini-vacation in Chicago after Rosemont and the Regional.

I learned last night in chatting with Jakers that he seems to know the Chicago buildings like the back of his hand. Hopefully he can jump in here and identify them by name.

Sears Tower (center) from the river.

Contrail above Chicago

The Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier

The middle building is the home of Club Quarters hotel #2.

And what trip to Chicago would be complete without a visit to Sue the T-Rex at the Field Museum?

And the obligatory skyline at night shot:

Makes me want to go back John! And you even got a flag photo, neat! I'm sure you've got lots more as Chicago's got to be a photographer's dream kind of place. Did you get a chance to check out the new Millenium Park just north of the Art Institute? It was under construction last year but finished, I understand, now?

It took me a little while, but I've figured it out! The buildings in the contrail photo are part of a development called Illinois Center, a mix of office buildings, hotels, and apartment buildings. It's very modern, the oldest building was built in 1955.
Hope that helps!

Great shots, John! I, too, think that Chicago is a photographers dream. I would just love to walk around with a camera all day and just take pictures!

Thanks for sharing the great pics, John. I also really like the "header" you made for the post.

Great photos John!

I haven't been there in a few years, but it was almost like being back in person.
