So I don't get out much, and Marblehead is only 3 1/2 hours away. I always catch the sun coming up over the lake, and was fooling around with a Tiffen Enhancing filter.

Bud, you might think about doing a vertical crop on that one... it'd make a great vertical pano!!!
Very nice capture!

Very well done Bud! How do you get the boats to cooperate, especially at sunrise. Fantastic Photo. Thanks for posting it. Bert

Thanks for sharing your photo and example of use of filters for those of us that are trying to learn photography. We are never to old to learn.

Hey, thanks for all the comments! This was my first time using Velvia slide film. I never thought about the vertical, Gary, sounds like a great idea! What I like best about Marblehead is that there is always SOMETHING going on at sunrise- there actually is a large great lakes freighter way off to the left I cropped out, I felt it detracted from the focal line of reflection, sun and sailboat. Too bad the judges at our fair didn't like it as well as I do- it took a third place in seascapes. However my Marblehead shot with the bird took first, as did a southwest Mi. lighthouse collage, and a portrait of Beth and Amanda.
