Well here's my first try posting a photo on the site. This I edited in Adobe Photoshop to B/W.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Jeff

Here's an Algoma as well

I don't have a strong enough lens as of yet. I'm looking into getting the Nikon 18-200 mm when I can find one!

Any critiques would be great.

Thanks

jeff

Nice work, Jeff. Both look great. Good composition. I'd say maybe 1/2 stop overexposed. You could cut that back in PhotoShop.

I do like both pics but I prefer color over b&w when the lighthouse is not b&w.

Thanks for sharing and I do hope you will have more photos to post for all of us to enjoy.

Here's a few of the coastline.

Here's Gill's Rock, pretty much the tip of Door County. Very beutiful looking out into the Bay!

This was at the Cave Point County Park I believe. It was awesome hearing the waves just crash up onto the shore! Loved it.

Everyone who has been to Sturgeon Bay probably has a picture from about the same spot, but I really like Jeff's B&W for the starkness it shows.

Also interesting is all the snow on the SB pier while the Algoma pier looks totally without snow.

I love looking at the "snow" pictures! Wish I had taken more when I lived in Maine!

Thanks for all your comments.

Yep, Dave, I know about everyone probably having a similar shot. The most interesting thing was the wave of ice on the left side of the photo. That's what I was standing on. On the right side of the photo, as you can see, there is no ice or snow. The whole catwalk out was covered in ice and snow and that's as far as my fiancee would let me go!

Thanks again

jeff
