Our final stop was to the Ponce Inlet lighthouse before we had to head back to Orlando to fly home.

Ponce is another beautifully restored lighthouse with really nice exhibits. It was just repainted in 2001. Another 203 step climb to the top.

I liked this image looking at the tower from the shaded side but the sun caught the flags flying in front of the door.

Ponce has a lens building for touring. Inside is the original first order lens from Cape Canaveral and also the first order lens that used to be in Ponce.

Great shots, Lorie! I haven't seen any of those lighthouses - and frankly, anything with sun and no snow right now looks inviting! Thanks so much for sharing. I haven't had much of anything new to add to the Forums lately...that *may* change tonight for the Northern Lights...**Jen Crosses Fingers**

Lorie,

Again- great photos. We got to these two last year for the HL Regional and even got to Cape Canaveral.

Your photos bring back great memories.

Lorie,

Thanks for sharing your great photos! Did you mention that the weather wasn't nice, or did I imagine that? It looks like it's nice from the photos you took. (We just had our first snowfall over 1 inch today. We've probably gotten at least 6" so far.)

We're going to Florida in October.

Thanks again!!

Tammy...it was kind of cold for Florida standards. When we were in Orlando, it was in the low 80's for the first couple of days. Then the cooler weather started to come in along the coast. It was in the mid 40's in Georgia and mid 50's in Florida in addition to wind.

We were in St. Augustine Tuesday and Wednesday but the docent that was at the top of the tower said it had been closed for climbing last Saturday because of 60 plus mile an hour winds.

Overall, you just needed a jacket to break the wind but it was nice and sunny and not too crowded. smile These are four really nicely preserved lighthouses with great displays and towers to climb.

Much better weather than we had in this area today. 8 degrees and winds to 20-25 miles per hour. Real frown Cold. Great Pictures Lorrie.

I second the motion on the unusual "flag pic". As Arte Johnson use to say on Laugh-In, "Very interesting!"

Great composition recognizing that one in time to get the shot.

Lorie,

Just caught up with your travelogue ...Thanks for all the picture posting ...

Thought the shot from Ponce, light silhouetted, flags hightlighted, was the best of a spectacular lot.

Thanks for sharing

Barry
