A few of you know that I sold my home in the Salt Lake City area and moved to the desert in the southwestern corner of Utah. This is my first spring living here and I am loving the blooming cactus. These are in my yard. This image shows the flowers just before they open.  They are white once the bloom opens. I have about 8 cactus like this around my house. The bloom only stays open a few days before it dies back.  One more with orange flowers.

Absolutely gorgeous! Sad, that they only bloom such a short time...but then again it gives you something to look forward to again next spring.

Hi Lorie,
Had gotten away from the Forums for a while and didn't realize you had moved. Carol & I are staying in a timeshare at present outside Salt Lake City and found you moved when I looked you up. Night before last we stayed in a motel in St. George on our drive up to Snowbird from our home in Sun City West, AZ. Now that Carol & I know where you live, we'll have to look you up sometime. After leaving Utah on this trip we'll be heading SE down to santa Fe, NM for a week stay there.
Hope you're standing up well to the heat of the desert. Loved your cacti photos. Cactus in bloom are special ..... I love the bright msgenta-colored prickly pear cacti when they are in bloom. Be Well. Hugs, Dan
