I joined the Collectors Society October 1996. I had my first post November 1998. I have 120 LEs. I have all of the NC LEs including Cape Hatteras, revised mold, my home state. All of the FL LEs inculding Ponce de Leon and St. Augustine, my retired state.

I note that some WACKOs had their first post January 2000. I guess I should post replies. John, thanks for the information, Art, I agree with your previous post, etc. I could be a WACKO by the end ot the night. There has to be a better way. I hope I have not offended the people that set up the system.

Harry

No offence taken, Harry.

Have you got any frequent flyer miles with American or another airline? Do you have enough to get a free flight yet?

I'll trade you 19 post credits for 40,000 miles.

So Harry, what are the names of the 120 Harbour Lights lighthouses that you own? Please don't post more than 14 lighthouses per reply as I am a very slow reader.

Dale,

Thanks for your help and responce. My favorite lighthouse at the present is American Shoal. I also like the ivy on Port Sanilac and ofcourse the cow on Midle Bay. I like the snow covered lighthouses. Big Bay Point is my favorite, the snow man and footprints are a great toutch.

Have nine GLOWs, eleven Spyglasses, and both sets of thumbnails. Lots of ornaments.

Oh yes, how could I ever be a WACKO if I couldn't spell it. Did corect the spelling in my origional post.

Harry

ps: Isn't this fun.

To continue on. Lighthouses I have visited. Most that I have visited are in my area. To my north Cape Florida. Since it's restoration it is painted white and does not have the charm of the HL model. Alligator Reef is near by. It is a screw pile like American Shoal. Have been out to it many times. The public is bared from getting on the light. However, I am a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and we work with the Coast Guard Aid To Navigation (ATON) team. I hope someday to go out to the light with them. Next down the line is Key West. Then you take a boat or sea plane ang go out to Fort Jefferson. Have been there. You can see Loggerhead Key light from there.

All the way across the country and half way across the ocean there is Hawaii. I have been to both of the HL lights, Diamond Head and Kilauea Point. You can only look around the high fence to see Diamond Head. Kilauea Point is completely accesable to the public.

Harry

ps: Note the post number.

You've finally attained the title to go along with stature you achieved long ago: A Harbour Lights WACKO!

Harry,
Congratulations on achieving "Wacko" as far as the forum is concerned. With your love of lighthouses you were already a wacko.. Thanks for your posts to the forum.. It improves all of our knowledge about HL's and lighthouses....

Harry,
Its seems I keep repeating myself, You need not have a single post on this board to be a Harbour Lights WACKO. Some WACKOS don't even own computers. All it takes is the obsession to collect these lighthouses. I've collected Harbour Lights since 1992. In spring of '97 I started a Harbour Lights club, so I guess it took me five years to be a certified WACKO (certifying agency: wife & kids) I was a WACKO even before there was a WACKO status. For me, its just a title. Attend a Reunion, local club meeting, special event or a regional event and you'll find a whole lot of WACKOS. Have Fun.

This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask it! How many posts do you have to have to gain Wacko status? My friends think I am already!

Kay, there are no dumb questions. There are only questions to which one may not know the answer, yet.

In this case the answer is 50.

Please always feel free to ask HL-related questions and/or to use the search facility to find answers.

I actually got to have dinner at Diamond Head Light. It is (or was) the quarters of the Admiral who serves as the 14th Coast Guard District Commander. New officers arriving in the district were invited to a welcome dinner at his quarters. Not small and personal, when there were 15 or 20 new officers, they and their wives were invited.

It was fun .... and a long time ago, 1978.

Rich
