After driving 600 miles to get to our cabin at Paradise, the sunset was looking decent, and with a not so good weather forcast, we decided to try to beat the sunset to Crisp. It should take over an hour from Paradise, we made it in under 50 minutes, driving like crazy over very rough county roads. We beat the sunset by minutes----

Two days later Beth and I drove out and were greeted with a great mixture of clouds and sunshine

One nice thing about being a member of the Crisp restoration group is that when you visit you can get the key and climb the tower------

Duh, it's been a while since I've done this, maybe I should've opened those images up a touch!

Great sunset picture. Nice and ahem... Crisp. Looks like you had some good sized waves there too. I need to visit here and Pt. Iroquis, its a shame too that I was up there this summer and wasn't able to make it. Nice shots. JB

Bethany,

One of the duties of a parent is to do everything possible to make their kid's life miserable (if you don't believe me, you can ask my kid..). It is one of the true benefits of being a parent.

You have been missing so long we were beginning to wonder if the folks had "pulled the plug" on your internet privileges.

Bud, thanks for sharing the images. We don't get to see Crisp Point pics too often.

Dave

Nice pics, Bud. Thanks for sharing them with us. It's a pleasure to view pics of different lights we haven't seen here on the CF.

Driving fast on the roads out to Crisp Point, huh Bud... I hear that's an experience when you take it easy. If you're not careful, you might earn a reputation of being crazier than me. Seems I only get crazy about where I'm willing to go to actually shoot the photos AFTER I get there rather than while I'm getting there! Seriously though, good pics and thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone for the comments- I've been wanting to get some decent shots of Crisp to post. I found out it may be a smoother ride the faster you go, the wheels don't seem to have as much time to fall in the washboards/ruts. Honest! we drove slow coming back and had to nearly stop a lot of times. This part of the road is really pretty smooth, it's just sand and water with a few curves and turn-offs thrown in to help confuse you----

We saw a tow truck driver driving very fast on those dirt roads on his way to the truck with two flat tires. Since it had just snowed/rained the day before, there were a few large ponds in the road. I don't know what the truck with the two flat tires (left front tire and left back tire) hit to cause the problem, but I am glad that we drove at a reasonable speed. At one point there was a tree in 3/4 of the road. It had broken and fallen into the road (lightening strike?). Crisp Point was great. I hope my photos turn out well.

Great pictures, Bud. Especiallylike the way you get clouds to cooperate. Timing is always very important.

Suzanne, I remember the tree! I should have a shot of it somewhere, or maybe on video. Well Bert, I guess it's being in the right place at the right time- for all the lousey weather we had, that was the ONLY time that week we could have those clouds. cool

Suzanne, we arrived the evening of the 5th, got out in time for the sunset, Bethany and I went out Tuesday afternoon the 8th. The rest of the time was spent at Whitefish, the falls, Pt. Iroquois or watching videos during the rainy days!
