Grand Island East Channel Lighthouse, Kinda of a hazy morning, As I was scanning the slides I see that there were people working on the lighthouse. Fall colors were in full effect unfortunately the weather was not cooperative.

We cruised by the light in July of last year on the glass bottom boat tour, and it was in pretty sad shape. It's nice to here about the restoration attempts. They were just beginning the wood piling barrier in front of the light when we were there, and it looks like they have completed that portion from your shots. The foundation was only a few feet from the shore, and you know what Lake Superior ice and storms can do. Hope this one has a brighter future than Mispillion! Maybe someday it will be removed from the endangered list.

Great pictures, guys! It's good to see someone trying to restore this beauty! It sure needs lots of work. How about a "Restoration Series" figurine Harbour Lights?!?!?!

Rod, I had planned on taking the pictured rocks boat tour (to get a closer shot) but as luck would have it the last tour of the season was..... the day before we got there.
