I decided to take a few slides from a single day spent out on Cape Lookout a couple of years ago and to build a photo gallery around that day and my recollections of it.

As Ken put it, it is one of my favorite lighthouses as well. Gary, thank you for the wonderful shots. I think one of my favorites is that of Cape Lookout with the setting sun and a few columns of that pier. Thanks again.

Great, Gary! We've been close but never made it there.

Gary, as I see more and more of your pictures, my want list for visitng lighthouses is growing. It's becoming hard to prioritize which ones to see first. That's quite a compliment to your work.

The weather was a lot nicer the day Gary was there than when Heather and I tried to go. But then again, that just gives me an excuse to have to go back . . .

Great work Gary! It was definitely a neat light to see. The boat ride out made it a memorable experience.

This isn't a shot of Cape Lookout lighthouse, but was shot from the pier on Cape Lookout at dawn in June, 1999 looking to the north across Core Sound with the Cape Lookout lighthouse behind me. It would have been spectacular to have had this sunrise as a backdrop to the lighthouse, but Mother Nature didn't paint the dawn to the south but that didn't mean I couldn't photograph it!
