Have been playing with my camera and managed to get a picture of each of my favorite birds. One of the many hummingbirds that come to my feeders. A male cardinal that frequents my back yard. If the feeder is empty he will chirp at me through the patio door. He has even followed me around the yard "scolding" me!

Debbie, Great pics!!!
I too have a cardinal that hangs around my backyard. We get many hummingbirds, but you have to be sitting a while before you notice how fast they come and go.

It wasn't exactly easy to get the photo of the "hummer"...by the time you get focused they move or are gone! Although they are starting to get used to me being at the window-the one I saw this morning just hovered and looked at me then went to feeding. So, maybe they will not be so skittish and I can get a few more photos.

We seem to be seeing more cardianls this year than past years. They are such a beautiful bird and the red color certainly stands out amongst the greenery. What seems to be in decline is the number of bluejays. I've only seen a few this year as compared to past years. Nice pics, Deb! Bob

Debbie, love the pictures. That Cardinal is brilliant!!! The hummers WILL get used to you. So much so, you'll be able to take the feeder in your hand and they will keep feeding. These are some pictures I took in Ramona, CA last year. John is trying to remove the feeder to re-fill it, but the birds won't leave The birds don't seem to notice me there and I am not that far away. They are so intent on getting to feed, they are not in the least disturbed by my attempts to photograph them. These pictures were taken with my Kodak EasyShare DX7630

Quite the pictures, Margret! It's amazing the birds didn't fly off when you moved in for pictures. Bob

Great pictures Marget! I especially like the 2nd and 3rd photos. Really a neat experience...hopefully mine will get used to me, too. Thanks for sharing these!
