Sorry, they aren't lighthouses, but I had to share some of the beauty that was before me this morning. The angels had fun painting the landscape overnight! Central Michigan only got about 2-3 inches, but south of Grand Rapids got it good with a six inch blast. These have been enhanced with a special softening tool that also increases the contrast and saturation, but no manipulation of color or lighting otherwise, and no crop. This is how the images were captured. "The Crossing of Hope" "Frigid Dawn"

Especially like the second one, with the reflection. The reflected trees (at least on my monitor) have more of a golden look to them, a very interesting contrast to the snowy surroundings.

Thanks guys. Dave, you must have a correctly calibrated monitor. The golden color in the reflection of the trees is from the cast of the early morning sun. There was a polarizer on the end of my lens to help, also. The conditions this morning were perfect - and later this afternoon the wind picked up and blew almost all the snow off the trees. Glad I got out! I almost didn't go!

I'm glad you did Jen. Both pictures are great for different reasons. I wondered if that first one is in your back yard. Really great pictures. Bert

Absolutely gorgeous Jen! The reflection from the sun makes the trees look golden in the water. Thanks for always sharing your talent and advice.
