I received an email from a person named Bjorn Karlstrom asking if he could use some of my lighthouse photos at his World Lighthouses Website.

Have any of you received the same message?

Is the World Lighthouse Website legit?

Have any of you granted Mr. Karlstrom permission to use your pictures?

I believe he sent emails to all the Gallery photographers. I expect it is legit - but it's a major project. Whether there are funds or people to complete it, I don't know.

He's at least persistant. I received 2 or 3 e-mails about it over the last month or so. Never took the time to really look into yet.

I got something but I thought it was a copy of John's reply to Mr. Karlstrom? Don't believe I've received anything from Mr. Karlstrom directly but then my photos are certainly not on a par with many of the others', at least the ones in the Gallery as they were very early ones.

As I recall the whole project sounded pretty complex. The only thing that struck me was the offer of $ which is hard to ignore!!!

I received the email. I was going to call the Better Business Bureau in Orlando to find out if they have his company on file. I have photographs in Galleries and it is becoming a nice side business and additional income, Internet Addresses are easy to come by and I don't plan on loosing control of my photography. I plan to check it out and I am interested in seeing what will be provided for licensing agreements. It seems this will be a big melting pot for lighthouse photographers. Does the ease of finding your work out way the competition? I dont know, tell me what you think if you have an opinion.

I wondered about this email too. There has been others in the past that I replied too, but nothing ever came of them. Either the sender would not reply, or once they did, their interest disappeared. Usually I remain skeptical at this point.
