Ok, John said he wasn't tired of me uploading photos, so here's more. smile Today was partly sunny and 73 degrees - very warm for Michigan at this time of the year. The wind kicked up from the southwest around 25 mph - so I packed up my two year old daughter and we went on a sunset excursion to Grand Haven tonight. Needless to say, it was well worth the trip!

Right before the sun hit the water (it's off to the left out of this shot)

Just as the sun drops below the horizon...

The sky starts to light up, and...

Jen gets snap happy again!!! These were all taken again with my new Digital Rebel.

Jen,

I'm caught between the second and the fourth, leaning towards the fourth. Great pictures all. That camera seems to being doing very well for you and for us as you're sharing them with us.

Thanks

Bert smile

Aww, gee wiz .. *blush* .. thanks all! smile What will really hold my memory on that last shot is the color was in the air. I did a 360 degree turn and everything was orange. Maybe it had to do with the haze in the sky from the air being warmer than the water...or it was the Lord smiling down giving me the gift of capturing moments like these.

Next time that happens, Jen. Take some overlapping photos in a 360 degree circle and we'll use some stitching software to make a panorama that you can rotate. Overlap the images about 25-33%.

That would be really cool, John. I am cramming sunsets the next couple weeks while it's still "tolerable" temperature at the Big Lake. When we get Indian summer like we had last night, I think make for the best sunsets. Get some great ones in the spring too. Man I missed an awesome one last Thursday night...I guess I will have to start dragging along my two year old. BTW Dan (Elmer), I will upload a shot of my little girl later on.

Wow! I want one of those cameras!

They're all great. However, that last photo is the best. The reflection of the sky in the water is cool. What a shot!

Wow! I felt like I was there, with the sequence of photos! Very nice!

Marblehead, Mass. Lighthouse, you will always have a very special place in our hearts. ....We've made the journey as far south as New Jersey, as far north as Canada. Over 100 lighthouses visited.... and so many more to go.

Jen,

You are having way too much fun with your new camera. You obviously are doing a great job figuring out all the bells and whistles. I think my favorite of this group is the last one, with all the colors and clouds, and just a hint of reflection. Thanks for sharing.

Dave
