Let's see - neat clouds and blue sky rolled in and the light straightened up . . . . where are the deer when it would be really nice to have one in the photo?

Amazing how the clouds and blue sky do really make the light stand out.

Bob, nice comparison, and the second shot is beautiful.

Isn't it fun to be able to visit the same lighthouse fairly often and photograph it in all kinds of lighting and weather conditions?

I guess Bodie Island is the one I do that with...and I never get tired of going there, or trying one more photo.

Thanks for sharing those.

Judy

Nice Bob. The colors really pop out when the clouds open up and sun shines down.

Really neat comparison pics regarding lighting. The sun and blue sky sure makes a difference.

Cary ...

The stillness of that lit 550 shot ... I think that's the pick of the litter ... thanks for the entire sequence ...

Not much to do on LBI this time of year ... how did you fill in the time between photos?

Nice shots, where were you standing when you took the 5:50 shot.

Great shots Cary! I know right where you were taking those shots. Just a little bit off the beaten path.

There was a "Harbor Seals and Harlequins" nature educational program at the state park that day, so we spent some time doing that, as well as plenty of hiking and playing cards. We hadn't been to Barnegat at sunset, which is why we stuck around.

I know this area very well. The 5:50 shot had to be taken from a boat. Hopefully Cary can verify this.

Close - it was taken from a beach approx. 3/4 miles west of the light. You need a large zoom to get a decent shot (this was taken at 448mm).

Thanks for the info Cary. I have gone there so many times and I am trying to picture where? One day when I get back to NJ I am going in search of the spot.

I'm going back there in a few weeks. I thought 3/4 miles west is in the middle of Barnegat Bay. I actually thought you were north of Barney, either in the inlet or across the inlet on Island Beach State Park(but based on the time of your next photo, you couldn't get back in time).

Thanks again for posting these pics.
