We took a ride up to Concord Point yesterday afternoon. I wanted to see all of the snow piled up around the lighthouse. Well, much to my surprise, I actually saw GRASS in spots around the lighthouse! Mind you, we just had 24"+ of snow. I guess the wind came whipping in off of the bay and drifted the snow in a nice neat little ring all the way around the light, about eight feet away:

Ah the joys of living near our nation's capital. We lived in Crofton MD during the "light" snows of January 1996, which makes this storm look like flurries. I was going out to take some pics so I dug out my SUV and backed out of the drive. I got stuck on top of the snow, couldn't depress it enough to get road traction. By the time the snows melted enough to get out (5 days) it rained so much everything flooded, full size trees washed from West Virginia and through DC. Lighthouses moved to the back burner.

Larry, it was a beautiful day to shoot- nice shots! believe it or not, we still have snow piled on parking lots here, but not for much longer as it has been near 70 the past few days.
