Digital Foto will give me a 5yr for $89. He told me even if I drop and break I get A new one (as long as I dont drop in water). Sounds great did anyone get a warranty other than manufacturers. Is this a good bet or money thrown out. Came back from Cal. Not to many good pics overcast and cloudy. Ordering the Nikon d70 thanks to everyones help. Getting D70 w/18-70 lens 1 gig lexar 80x WA & UV filter. Do I need anything else.

I can't live without a polarizing filter, but some folks don't like 'em.
As to the Warranty question. It's not a substitute for insurance. Perhaps Jen can pop in here and re-relate her recent situation that caused her to need an 'upgrade.'

Is the dealer a local one, or one that is a distance from you? If it is an established local dealer offering their own warranty I'd say go for it at that price.

A card reader so you don't have to plug in your camera to download pix to your computer and drain the batteries in your camera all the time. About $25 for a good one - can be had at your local Walmart.
