We have just had the first flower from a very unusual rose we planted earlier in the year.

How do you like this one?

It is called "Oranges and Lemons"

The coloring is very unique. If they could duplicate the outcome using different color schemes I could see a lot of people really going for it. Things like school colors and such.

Wonder how long it took to develop the hybrid?

Yes, never thought of "school colours" etc. That could be a HUGE market... here and on your side of the big puddle.
I have no idea who developed this one, just saw it in the garden center and fell for it.

Spectacular bloom, to say the least! Is it a new variety, or has it been around for awhile?

Debbie, it has a very light "citrussy" scent, but you have to be real close to smell that.
And Bob, the rose apparently was first shown in the early 90s

Specifications:
The ORANGES & LEMONS (Macoranlem) was introduced to the gardening world in - 1993
Introduced : McGredy - 1993
YellowOrange in colour
Height : Medium
Flowering Period : Repeat Flowering
