Don't know the answers to your questions Fran, but I suppose it may be a possibility as it can be slick and also due to natural erosion, they may not want human intervention speeding it up.
Thanks to Bert for being persistent and getting some of my pics up for me/us. I see he said he wanted ME lighthouses and he got the ME lighthouses, though he had to go back to my scans of the ones I took on film with a camera thrice removed back in 1995; our first, and last trip to Maine until this year. It looks like the only day that wasn't cloudy was the day we went to Pemaquid, but it was better than that; especially on the way up to Bar Harbor.
The Nor'easter that had that seagull stuck in my frame, though he was trying to fly back over my head, was what we had to fly back in, and I proclaimed we would not fly unless we had to from there on out. The airline had to deliver my stomach to my house the next day.
We flew a couple of years later to Boston to go to VT and then 2 yrs ago to go on our Alaska cruise. Almost wish we'd flown this year with all of the driving, but not quite...especially with the weather coming back!!
Hopefully, at his convenience, Bert will get some of the Savannah trip and this trip up in the next day or so.
