For those who haven't been to tawas for a few years, do you notice anything that's missing? Below is a clue..... Shot the Spring of 1997... Shot the Fall of 2002... Great shot Tim!!!

I've never been there, Paul, so I wouldn't have the slightest idea. I do know those are great pics! Thanks for sharing (again), Tim! Bob

In fairness to Bob... I was adding those clue pictures while he was adding his post... so he didn't see them before he posted...

The TV antenna on the tower? ... Probably get good reception with the antenna way up there.
And Tim looks like you had nearly perfect skies, well done!

Well, the big white house is gone and it's accompanying garage/shed (unless that's what's shown in Tim's photo? Wonder why they put that red roof on the keeper's house. It sure doesn't seem to match the brick unless it looks better in person. The lantern room roof is a different color now than in '97 too.

Yep, lower afternoon soon striking the roof shows it is indeed a bright red - newer and contrasted with the original brick. The outbuilding also got a new copper topper - bet it doesn't look like that a year from now. I thought the present scene more photogenic than the grounds with the white houses.

Nice pictures from both years you were there. Especially like those without the antenna. Seems like this is a beautiful area to see. Thanks for sharing the photos with us. Always like to see pictures of lighthouses, wherever they are. Bert

I agree , Tim, it is much easier to get nice images of the lighthouse now that the white building is gone.. it could use a little landscaping now, hopefully some is in their plans.. If you get far enough away you can add a little landscaping of your own... I wonder why they left the old foundation of the white building?
