I have been through Menominee countless times and never truly had the time to stop and view this light. On our way home from vacation, I made sure we took the time. A little bit different view.

Nice pictures Debbie! Looks like a lovely place! Forgive my ignorance (put it down to my being "foreign" ), but where is this lovely little lighthouse?

Was this light recently painted? It looks great! Thanks for sharing the photos. Bob

Margret,
Lighthouse is located in Menominee, Michigan. It is on Green Bay at the border between Michigan and Wisconsin. Once was a great lumbering area and had carferry service across Lake Michigan to the Lower Pennisula.
Dan
P.S. Note to Bob M., when you are boating in the area; Menominee has the nicest boater's lounge and shower set-up that I've ever used. Classy!

Sorry Margret...was tired when I posted and didn't think to add that information for those that didn't know.
It is in the U.P.(Upper Penninsula) of Michigan. Located in Menominee and it is located on the bay of Green Bay...Lake Michigan. Dan thanks for picking up the slack on that! I wondered the same thing about it having been recently painted. The last time I caught a glimpse as we were passing through...it was more a faded red. So I am assuming that it has been repainted...because it is definitely bright and fresh!

I shot the first two images in August of 2005 on the way to the Reunion... The paint job has held up well, as I believe it was freshly painted in the Fall of 2004.. The following one was in April 2, 2005 when we were in town for the launching of the new Mack..

Nice photos, Paul! The time frame would be right-it was the summer of 2004 when I glimpsed it. In 05 it was at night, so only saw beacon shining. Looks like we were in about the same spot when we took the first picture that we each posted! Cool! Thanks for the info as to when it was repainted!

Yes, and in April 2, 2005, there were several WACKOs climbing out on that snow pile on the ice after the Mack launch and before a WILD lunch & meeting.
