Saturday, October 11, I was able to hit a couple more lights. Before that, around 9am, I did some dirt road travel and hit this spot of color abour 1/2 hour south of Cheboygan near Ocqueoc Recreation Area.

Old Cheboygan Front Range Building.

Cheboygan Crib Light. I squeezed between the railing and out to the rocks for this picture while my two year old looked on with glee!

The sun was peeking in and out of the clouds, and I was able to get this cool silhouette with the rays streaming through the haze.

McGulpin Point, Mackinaw City. I didn't shoot the Mackinaw City Light because it's under restoration and the roof had nice blue sheets of new insulation on top! smile

That afternoon, we went on a boat trip with my cousin down Inland Water Way from Cheboygan to Mullet Lake. On Mullet Lake, someone with a lot of money built this pseudo-light in their front yard. Very nice!

The weather was sunny and 70 both days. Could not have asked for better weather. It ended tonight with a stop for sunset at Little Sable. I will have that posted mid-week as I am waiting on slides. Color stayed in the sky for almost an hour after the sun hit the water.

What a wonderful whirlwind trip!!

Thanks for sharing your pics Jen. It makes me envious at times that I'm not closer to a lighthouse. frown

Lorie, I am now an official wacko. You know what happened/ I have two user id's on this board. I started this one years ago, couldn't remember the password, so I started a new one. I went to log in a short time ago, and voila! there was the old id! Talk about a brain cramp! smile I wanted to keep the old one.

Thanks for all the comments!
