When you post photos to any of these Forums, those with dial-up connections will greatly appreciate your keeping the file SIZE of the image small to enable faster loading.
A recommended size is 400 to 500 pixels in the longest dimension at 72-100 dpi.
When saving JPG images, you generally will get an option to set the 'quality'. Pick a number such as 5-6. This will reduce the image file size significantly without visably reducing the quantity.
If you take your own digital images or do your own scans, keep these standards in mind.
I've asked St. Dave to email a reminder to those who post images that exceed these standards.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

John, I'm on dial up and many large sized photos load fine for me while some smaller ones load slowly. So it's more a question of resolution than size???
