OK, here's one for ya... Most of us have cameras that have a self-timer in them. Those things are intended to let YOU get in your own photo, but how many of us ever use them? I decided to start a thread comprised solely of self-portraits. Two requirements: 1) YOU have to have been the one who took the photo of YOU and 2) A lighthouse has to be visible in the image.

Here's my contribution to the thread. This was shot out on Cape Lookout a few years ago and with a heck of a lot less grey hair than I'm presently blessed with!

This photo was also just posted from webphotos. I've been having some problems getting mages back up in other threads but have been able to get them to come up by opening the edit choice for the first post of the thread. Terry said she tried that but wasn't able to get the images to load. So, it seems that webphotos is somewhat back up, I guess????

Gary, a neat idea. Last time I was in my own picture was maybe 30 years ago. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Do you have to be in a good pose or can you be running to your spot or from your spot to the camera? I have all three and two are not a pretty site at all.lol

Chuck, I don't care what kind of pose it is. I was just trying to give people something to try with their cameras! Good, bad, or in my case UGLY!

Chuck and Bud, if either of you are still logged onto the lighthouse photography forum, did my self-portrait load for either or both of you?

It appears that webphoto must be down again. They seem to be down for whatever!

I just checked www.webphotos.com/ and they are up and running, so I can't explain why the photos aren't appearing. Maybe John can expalin it for us.

It may be that webphotos is blocking calls to individual photographs similar to what some other free sites do.

They do this because they want to drive people to their site and make the page counter go crazy. This enables them to charge advertisers more.

Try going to Webphotos and locating your photos then providing a LINK to the Webphotos page with the picture.

John, you may well be right. In the case of my "stuff" on webphotos, there are close to 200 images parked out there in my galleries. This would almost necessitate a link first to the gallery and then someone having to locate a particular photo by title within that gallery, which amounts to a royal pain. I've sent a query to webphotos asking them what is going on, as has Terry. As of this morning, I had not heard back from them. I'll post whatever reply I get as soon as I get it.
