You guys IDed the lighthouse on the postcard for me. So this was a picture in a restaurant in Alabama. Is it a real lighthouse? And if so which one? And what is the meaning of the legend on this picture (the one on the left) about a broken shackle?

Well, I can help you with at least one of those. At the feet of the Statue of Liberty is a broken shackle symbolizing the United States breaking away from Britain's tyranny. I think it's one of those little-known things about the Statue considering its at the bottom and people are always either looking up from the bottom or out from the crown. This photo looks like it was taken from the torch, which is a pretty rare view.
