Shirin,

Are you by any chance related to a Denise Shirin Weiss?

A person by that name has the cover of the latest Lighthouse Depot Catalogue with a beautiful view of Jeffrey's Hook with a Sailboat passing in the distance.

Congratulations are in order to that person.

There seems to be a similarity in the names. laugh

Shirin,

Could be the move also. It might take a couple of extra days to get to you.

I'm sure they'll send you one if you call them. If not I'll save mine and send it to you.

I don't have mine either. Is it possible to post a picture of the cover here on the forums. I'll check into their website also..

Congratulations Shirin! Great to have something published.

Bert,

I could scan it and upload the picture, but I'm leery of doing that with a copyrighted picture.

At least without getting permission from Lighthouse Depot.

Be careful, Dennis! The copyright police are outside your home right now. Be careful when you look out the window, they might see you. They are trying to blend into the neighborhood. The two cops are Lem and Ephus. Lem has the plaid flannel shirt on with the matching hat. Ephus is the guy with the tank-top t-shirt and bib overalls. His hat is the same as Lem's. They are usually driving a red and brown zamboni with Maine registration "Eeyupp". They are not armed but they each carry a rolled up L.L. Bean catalog as a club.

"This message will self-destruct within a few days", I think.

Not supposed to give away the store, BOB! Now he knows whose watching. We may not get amything done again. Oh well!!!

Dennis, I certainly understand and you're right. Now that Bob has given away the store we must be careful.

Bob,

I've read enough posts here on the Forum to know that some people take their copyrights very seriously when it comes to pictures.

I also don't want to cause any trouble for John with the Forums.

Plus I figure Shirin might want to post her own photo.

I did upload the picture of the cover in anticipation of being able to post it.

Shirin,

Congratulations on your picture. I received my catalog this morning and now I know why they chose the picture. It is great!!! Well Done!

Maybe I'll take a trip past the old apartment this week and hope that the mailman left me a copy there.
Until then I'll just have to hunt through all of my photo albums until I find the picture I sent in. If I find the picture I'll post it later.

Is this the right one? It took me 10 boxes of unpacking before I found a copy of it.

Shirin,

That's it. It looks just like that with the Lighthouse Depot border around it.

You should have said it was so hard to find. i could have cropped most of the border form the cover picture (at least enough for it not to be identifiable)

Those were boxes I needed to unpack anyway. I've still got quite a few after moving.

Got an email this afternoon from Tim Harrison and he will send extra copies out shortly. So, I'll get a copy at some point.

I figured you'd get a copy one way or the other.

Guess it had one additonal benefit- getting boxes unpacked.

There are always more.

Most shots you see have the bridge in them. Shirin took a different approach and ended up with a very nice picture. Congratulations on your cover!

Well Dave, you got me. I was trying anything I could to not get the bridge in the shot. I just wanted to be different. So, if you climb out a bit onto some rocks you can completely cut the bridge out. Just be careful and wear some decent shoes. I almost fell in the river a couple of times.

First of all very nice picture, Shirin, but I personally need the bridge as part of any picture of this lighthouse. It just isn't The Little Red Lighthouse And The Gray Bridge without the Gray Bridge...

I am sure glad someone at Harbour Lights thought that way, also.

It's such a different view of the lighthouse that I had to look at it twice to make sure they had not misidentified it.

It's a view that you don't often see of this light for the very reason Paul mentions.

I'd like to see a picture of it in it's original spot- at Sandy Hook.

Well, vandalism might be cut down now that there is a guard stationed near the bridge and lighthouse 24/7. Also, they now have a tiny lens in the lighthouse. So they are keeping this one up.

My copy came yesterday and what a nice surprise to see the light without the bridge and autumn leaves. You did a great job and oh, by the way,how much did you pay the sailboat owner? Great to see Forumites photos out there for lots of folks to see them.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, Bob, the Denise is out of the bag. It's not that I don't like my first name, it is just that my parents never used it. Perhaps it was too much to have a Dennis and a Denise?

Congratulations Shirin!! What a wonderful picture with the sailboat and the beautiful colors in the trees. My copy arrived several days ago but, as you know, I have been off-line for a week due to my moving (and I know you can relate to that). You have a keen eye for composition. Keep up the nice work.
