Here is a picture of a lighthous I did not post. As you can see the lighthouse image is small, but the geological formation might help in identifying the lighthouse. Which lighthouse is it? Hint it is in Scotland

Lots of luck! Art wink

I think I have seen this one too, but I will wait a little until I say what I think it is.

If it is the one I think, the rock is absolutely covered in birds at certain times of the year. wink

Is the little white speck on the rock the light? I have been looking at the image trying to see the light, and that is the closest my poor eyes get.

I know the answer- but I cheated so I won't respond at this point other than to say anybody can easily discover it the same way as I did by a simple process on the photo.

I also cheated, so I won't say anything either.

I used to question the poster's of any lighthouse I didn't recognize. Then John C told me one way to figure it out.

To those who claim you cheated, if you gained access to the picture upload files to see what pictures I upload, YES that is cheating. Shame on you.

All you have to do is right click on the picture and click properties. It'll show you the name of the file.

A word of advise, if you want to play a game where you show a pic and then ask forum members to id the light just name the file lighthouse.jpg or nocheating.jpg.

I didn't intend to "cheat". I copied the photo so I could zoom into the white speck to see it better and the name of the file showed up.

I then did a google search and found the answer.

I believe only Dave and maybe a few others have access to the uploaded files. Jenifer could easily see the file name in this forum- as I could in those where I can edit, delete, etc any posts.

There was no intent to cheat- but it's why I chose not to name the lighthouse.

Gee, I thought everyone who knew how to use a computer, also knew about right clicking onto "properties". Where in the heck does that become cheating?

You have to desquise your file name if you don't want anyone to easily know what it is, just as Eric describes.

Even I know that...and I'm a blonde.

At any rate, it is a cool photo.

I call it cheating only because I looked at it's properties before I tried to quess the lighthouse name from just looking at the pic.

Kind of the same as if someone puts a picture if front of you and asks you what it is, but once they weren't looking you turned it over and looked at the name on the back.

To be honest, I don't know many UK lights from memory. There was no chance I was going to quess the answer. At that point I just looked at it's properties. smile

I think Art's intent was to stimulate folks to go search for the lighthouses of Scotland (the hint he gave) so that we might learn more about lights around the world. I am sure that many of us get into searching for something from time to time - half the fun is in the challenge of the hunt.

I appreciate folks taking the time to share pictures of their lighthouse adventures, especially ones in countries other than the US. For many of us, that might be the only way we get to see some of these lights.

Yes I knew this is Bass Rock, because I spent some time sailing around the rock. It is a fascinating place to watch birds! And sailing is ideal, because quiet and the birds don't feel disturbed!

Here is more information on the lighthouse:
