Here's a shot I made at Whitefish Point light station on Lake Superior. It was a beautiful day, and a really cool lighthouse. I wasn't sure i'd like this light, but once we got there, I really warmed up to it.

To get this shot I had to stand on the parking lot fence post and lean against the oil building and stretch over to the right to get the shot I wanted. I'm glad I did it, though. My wife told me not to, but I waited till we were leaving so if they saw me and told me to leave it wouldn't be any big deal. laugh

Hope you like it!

Really nice shot!

Your efforts were well rewarded...thanks for sharing...and climbing on that fence post!

That is a nice shot Mike, I have been to Whitefish probably 7-8 times and trying to get a shot from that area is definitely a challenge with the parking lot, signs, people and buildings. Did you go to the viewing platform in the bird sanctuary? great view over the top of the lighthouse to the St. Mary's River.

Mark, I didn't make it over to the bird sanctuary, hopefully next time we're there we'll have a chance to.

While I was there I saw something interesting, maybe someone can help me out with it. It looks like a grave site, but it's right on the beach in a public area. For all I know some tourist was playing with driftwood a week before I was there. So any info would be appreciated.

I have photographed a grave at a lighthouse in Michigan, has anyone else seen it? I'll post a picture in a few days if no one guesses.

Hey Mike -- did you by chance get a short of Whitefish point from about 5' left or right of that streetlamp? I have a use for that one. Email me.
