I made the switch to digital this last month when my Canon 1v and best lens was lost. These aren't lighthouses, but represent some of the fine nature opportunities a few miles from Portland, Oregon. I upgraded to the Canon 1D Mark II.

Looks like you have adapted yourself to the digital world very well, Ned. I like the middle picture, where you are looking out at the fall. Did the old camera bite the dust or did someone decide they needed it more than you did?

Well, the camera and my best lens actually took a nasty fall into a stream I was photographing. It would take more to repair them than what they were worth. In a way I wish they had have been stolen in order to collect some insurance money!

Well, you do like to photograph the falls and rivers - guess that was an occupational hazard. Guess insurance wouldn't buy that the river "stole" the camera and lens, eh?

Digital is great isn't it? I let go of an F4s and F5 last year for a D1. Best thing I've done in 20 years as a working pro. I shoot more, and think clearer.
