Nice article about portrait of Ken Black that Ron and MJ Foster donated to the Maine Lighthouse Museum. Ron took the portrait. Would love to see the image you used, Ron. When our group toured Maine in Oct 2006, MJ had arranged for Ken and Dot to surprise the group the morning we visited the museum. This was a wonderful opporunity for folks to meet Ken and Dot. Most of the group had not previously had the pleasure of meeting them, so that made the visit even more special. Thanks Ron & MJ for honoring Ken with the portrait.

What a great tribute to Ken Black. Ron's photographs are always beautiful, but I had no idea that his photography extended to portraiture. The portrait is just wonderful.

I'm sorry that I never got to meet Ken Black. Nowhere have I ever heard or read anything about the man that wasn't said or written with admiration and respect. A very nice and needed tribute to a great man.

Ron does good work all around.
Dave, thanks again for having Ken and Dot at the museum. I got to shake Ken's hand and thank him for the work he had done. (Which reminds me, we should all take a moment and thank someone who has helped save lighthouses and lighthouse items that go with it).
Thanks all of those on this forum who have helped in one way or another to save and preserve our lighthouses.

As much as I would like to take the credit for Ken and Dot being at the museum, all I had to do is tell MJ 'yes' when she asked if I thought folks would enjoy the opportunity.

Dave, you still deserve credit. I sure the offer was not given to everyone who visits. Because of the way you handle things, exceptions or extra's are made.
Go ahead and take a bow.

Thanks to Ron and MJ for such a thoughtful gift. btw...I can't believe how grown-up Lexis is now. We first started seeing her at lighthouse events when she was only a young child. She has grown into a beautiful young woman.

I remember that day and having the opportunity to talk to Ken & Dot. I had first met Mr Lighthouse several years before at his original lighthouse museum site. Glad I had the opportunity, and how cool is it that that day was commemorated by Ron, MJ and Lexis.

Dot Black must be so proud and happy! And I'm sure Ken is up there looking down and smiling. I can't wait to see it next time I am in Maine.
