I was just thinking about the yearly "Register & Win" Contest that Harbour Lights has to kick-off the new release season. The ultimate prize in that contest is getting the opportunity to pick a future HL. I think that is the best prize offered. Just imagine the thought of picking a light and having HL reproduce it.

We have no exact way to measure how additional contests may effect sales of new releases, but I'm sure it would help. I would like to see other contests offered that would generate more interest in collecting HL's.

What about you?

I never win anything so contests don't really thrill me one way or the other. I think for normal people that win every now and then it's a great idea to have contests to promote sales.

I'm with you Rich. I always consider myself a contributor whenever there is raffle. Winning just doesn't happen. I once bought a $2.00 scratch ticket and won $2.00. Thinking it was great, I kept the tickets I played until I won again. It took another 27 tickets to win another $2.00. Return on investment, extremely poor!

There are some really unique prizes in some contests/raffles, and naming a Harbour Light is certaining a great one.
Others include an overnight at a lighthouse, and a party for 20 at a lighthouse. Also the lighthouse trip that HL offered was a great prize.
The better the prize, the harder to win, the more valuable it is.
I never win but that has changed recently on a 50/50. So never say never. Come on Mega Millions!

I hope that I didn't give the impression that I don't buy raffle tickets. I do! That's what makes me a contributor. It helps to be in the raffle. Always like to contribute to Lighthouse Organizations and I find no better way than to but raffle tickets or volunteer to work.

I don't usually win anything either, except last year I won a drawing at our Tampa Bay Harbour Lights Collector's Club for a $200. gift certificate for gift store in Lakeland, Annie's Attic. Was I ever delighted! They sell Harbour Lights! I think it's a great idea!

I love buying raffle tickets, entering contests, etc.

I don't win very often but it does entice me to at least think about buying something.

I'll surely buy those raffle tickets for the LI Lighthouse Challenge- even if I don't make it to the event itself.

I enter sweepstakes all the time online- I even have an e-mail address I use just for that so I get most of my junk emails at that address.
