Great pictures, Bob! I really like seeing the snow picutes as I don't get any lighthousing done during the winter months. Hope there won't be any snow for the Regional in September, it would be too cold to be on the water for the Sunset Cruise.

Judy, September might be the best month of all to be visiting Long Island. The ocean is actually the warmest at that time.

Nice Bob, thanks for posting them. Up this a way we don't call that snow. We call it a dusting.

These pictures were taken the day after we had 8 inches on Long Island. Out on the Point of Montauk, 120 miles into the Atlantic, snow is very rare. 10 miles further west in town there was lots more snow but nowhere near the 150 inches you had this year Sue.
But check out the erosion on the cliff! The beaches took a beating this year.

Bob, Great Pictures! I especially like the ones where you show the lighthouse, the snow (of course) and the ocean. Seems like a wonderful place to see. Hopefully, in September if nothing else goes wrong. I had everything planned for the last weekend in September then someone moved the date up to my busy weekend of the month (The third weekend). Trying to work it out.

what is that big white building to the right of most of your shots? Is that part of the lighthouse property, and what is its function?

we are in the middle of a 2-4 inch dusting right at the moment. We won't reach your snow totals for the season, but this gives us almost 70 inches which is double the normal for our snow season.

Pete, according to Bob that's a WWII Observation Tower. I'd always wondered too. Seems a lot more sturdy that some of the others I've seen in photos. Maybe we're still on the lookout at Montauk?

Nice pictures, Bob, how was your stay at the Manor??

The Manor was pretty cool, Paul. The lobby is restored. The rest of it seems to be updated rooms, and condos. We had a one bedroom condo with 2 baths, kitchen, and living room. They had an indoor pool, exercise room, and squash court. Dining in the restaurant was also treat. We also had great meals at Shagwong(Irish), and Harvest on Ft Pond (three places we've never been to before because they're jammed in the summer). Best of all Saturday and Sunday were 50 degrees!
