We took the boat out to the Copper Harbor Lighthouse on Saturday, 7/31. We had a really calm ride out and back. The only way you can access this light is by a 15 minute boat ride across Copper Harbor via the State Park service to the lighthouse. It sits on the tip of a peninsula and the landowners have made the road to get to the lighthouse private and inaccessible. These images were taken about an hour before sunset.

This last one is an area of shoreline behind the lighthouse as you can walk a path around it. The late evening light really lilt up the rocks nicely.

Jen...sounds like you had a nice ride over to Copper Harbor. Last Wednesday morning when the group was there to take the boat tour the water was very choppy. They were debating on whether to cancel the boat tours for that morning. It was a pretty wild ride with the wind causing waves to splash over the top of the boat. They provided rain slickers for all the people in the back of the boat but John, Bryan Acree, and Suzanne Murphy all got quite wet.

Once we got there the weather was not a problem. Just nice sunny skies. The ride back was much calmer. No one even got wet. smile

Thanks for posting all your beautiful photos. A big thanks for downloading my memory cards. You really saved me! laugh smile laugh I can't wait until we can all get together again.

Very nice! What a difference clouds and lighting can make. I took a picture of Copper Harbor from the same place you were standing (your second photo). But it doesn't look as nice as yours.

Lighting does make a huge difference. That's why I wanted to do the sunset tour so bad! laugh I did clone out that sign on the second shot because it was in the way. Post yours! I'd love to see it!

Lorie: No problem! 'Twas my pleasure!
