Jen,
You've been hanging around with Gary too much - sounds as if his (you fill in the blank) is starting to rub off on you! Some great shots, thanks for sharing. Love the legs of the catwalks when they are iced over.

Hi Dave! Actually, New Year's Eve is the first time I met Gary. We've chatted by email quite a bit but we've never been shooting together until last week. I have several Michigan lights with winter shots that I've done in previous years but now that I don't work full time anymore I have free time to get out and do this kind of thing as often as I want, for the most part.

I love those two shots of the outer light. Very sharp!

Would the word from the blank be "insanity" Dave? The photo above was shot the morning Jen and I shot at Grand Haven on New Year's eve. The following one was shot about simultaneously with hers from that photo shoot... she was landscape oriented, I happened to be shooting portrait with a longer focal length. I don't know how many frames Jen banged off when either of my photos were shot, but both of those posted above are from 6 frame sequences shot at 4 frames/sec. When I get around to it, I'll probably turn one or both of those into animations. Gary

Gary, my image above was from a four frame sequence. I probably have some on slides too. I won't be down to get them until next Tuesday btw...I just mailed them two rolls from yesterday so I will just get all of them next week. If I'd ever get around to designing my website, I could put up some animated sequences too. I have unlimited web server space...

From a land-locked lighthouse lover, thanks you two for getting me this 'fix'.
Beautiful shots all.

Awesome shots, Jen and Gary! As a former Yankee, I totally respect the level of ahem--"insanity" required to go out in that weather. :p Thanks for sharing them!

Thanks Jen and Gary for once again sharing your talent with us. I don't know how you go out in that cold of weather!
I get cold just looking at the photos.

Wow...great shots Jen and Gary! The ones with the water sweeping accross the pier show the warning we are given so many times, that the waves are powerful and can sweep you away if you're not careful. It's similar to the situation with the Pemaquid rocks, where so many people have slipped and died...you just have to be careful. (Suction-cup soled shoes, anyone? )
