I began using the fisheye lens here, until the second to last picture.

I think they called the falls "Bridal veil falls"

Nice photos Mark. Pictured Rocks reminds me a little bit of the Apostle Islands when we took the boat tour around them. It's a beautiful part of the country.

Nice photos Mark but I'm sure they are similar to what I find at a lot in these spectacular locations. You just can't capture the full effect in the lens. The fisheye definitely helps though! We need a high quality panoramic lens?

Beautiful pictures Mark. It always surprises me to see cliffs on a lake. My general ignorance of the area, I always had the sterotypical idea that there would only be a flat shoreline around a lake. Had never been to the area until last year for the Reunion. As my interest in lighthouse grew and I found pictures of lighthouses in the area and the pictures posted here, I realized how ignorant I was of the area.

Split Rock is one of my favorite lights, that cliff and the lake, magnificent.

Mark,

Nice photos. We saw Pictured Rocks on the WILD Lake Superior boat trip. What time of day was your boat tour? It looks like you had much better lighting than we did.

Tammy, We took the sunset cruise in hopes of getting the kind of lighting that I got. We camped up in the area for 9 days mid July, I waited for a day when the skies were clear (to insure good color, although a few clouds would have been nice) The sunset cruise leaves at about 3 hours before sunset, and it goes out a little further than the regular cruise, according to the crews naration.
